Water Colors, Garden Art

Water colors, began for me a few years after I had been painting in reverse on glass. I loved painting, and wanted to continue, but I needed some variety. The different medium in art provided just that! Change in itself is not always a good thing, but trying something new to you for the benifit of insight can be very helpful. Not to mention it renewed my activity with the reverse painting on glass! It was a win-win situation!

I purchased some books on water painting, and took a couple classes on Chineese brush strokes. It was great! The co-workers I had then were so supportive! One lady even changed her day off with me so I could take the class! I took my first 'master piece' in to show her!

It was a supprize to me to find out that when painting in this manner, The main subject of the painting is put in before the background. When I took classes in oil painting, the background was always painted first, so I had a preconcieved notion that all works of art were done in this manner. But there is always something to be learned! Is that not exciting?
I plan to work on it more this summer. If another class comes up, it's a safe bet that I'll be there!
Most of my work you see on this page are matted in 16" x 20" frames. And all of them so far are priced at $55plus s & h.

Even though I plan to continue with this work, the majority of my efforts will be spent in reverse paintings on glass. There is a chalenge to working either way. Decisions, decisions...
