Pictures of Wild Animals

Pictures of wild animals, I have always loved and admired the beauty of baby wild animals, domestic animals, and all pictured of wild animals! I suppose that it's only natural then, that when I started painting, I would use this material for subject matter and paint pictures of animals!

It isn't as though I've been all over the world to view all of the pictures of wild animals you can see I've painted, but the media of our day and age place some amazingly lovely photography almost in our laps. Every year when December comes, I look for new calanders; not because I need them, but because the photography is exquisite! Where could you get a better look at a Sumatran Tiger? The wild animal pics are great!

I also subscribe to 'Ranger Rick' in my cat's name so the mail lady wouldn't think I was ordering a juvenile magazine with the wild animal pics for myself. I hope she doesn't want to know who Sheeba is. Another child at my age? Oh well, some days you just can't do anything without generating gossip.

As a young teenager, or maybe not yet quite a teen, I remember asking my father if I could have a pony. My theory was, that we didn't live in the city, though, it wasn't what one would call the country either. We had over an acre of land,( a pre-teen may have seen that as bigger than it actually was), And even though he was a daunting man, he rarely said 'no', if it wasn't necessary. A wild mustang would have been nice. I loved wild animal pics!

His answer was "Sure!, if you store enough hey and grain in the barn, BEFORE you buy the pony, you can have one! I had cut the deal of a lifetime!!!

I started working longer hours in the work shop, where my family worked the antique refinishing business. I didn't spend anything that I didn't have to for months. I found a nearby farmer who agreed to deliver first cutting hey for $ .20 per bale, and I figured 300 should cover the first year. This was getting soooo good! There were definatly pictures of wild animals running around in my head!

Horses at auction went for anywhere between $150 and $500 in the fall, when people didn't want to keep them over the winter at that time. It only took 4 or 5 months for me to get that opperation under way. I KNEW I had the deal of a lifetime!

She was a Shetland pony, and her name was 'Misty'. Dad always called her 'Mitsy'. A black and white pinto; I thought she was a beautiful pictures of wild animals!

But I kept working in the work shop, and when I had enough saved, I convinced my father that Misty was lonely, and could I get a taller horse this time?

Ever the goal to work toward!
