People and Places in Reverse Glass Paintings

Some people and places in reverse glass paintings you may recognize. Try real hard.
At first, I was afraid to put people and places in reverse glass painting. The very thought of painting a portrait was a scary thing for me. What if someone was insulted? What if I painted them in a way that they might not approve of? What if someone were to look at one of my paintings, and say "yucky." Thank goodness I got over that. My recovery coincided ironically or not, when I painted painting of my second oldest daughter with her nephew.

Though my daughter did prove to be a wonderful model for me to take advantage of for people in reverse glass paintings, I did begin to move on ot other people in painting on glass.
Another thing that helped me overcome my fear of painting faces, was that I was painting portraits of wild animals all the time. Did I ever stop to worry about how they might feel about something not being perfect? So many places are so much the way that I'de always like to remember them; it was good enough for me to want to get them right the first time.

When this painting was complete, I felt that it had been completed. There was nothing more I could have done to it to have made it a better place.

This is a reverse painting on glass, in a window sash, of my sister, Sue's carraige house. The outside dimensions of it are 57.5" x 28". From the time she started building it, years ago, I thought it was BEAUTIFUL. I wished I had been one of her horses, so I could live in it. The price is $220.

The day I took the photograph that inspired this 'people and places' in reverse glass paintings, may well have been one of the most beautiful days that I ever lived. My sweet honey and I went to a picnic that my daughter and her friend held at his camp on Oneida Lake. I shot about 4 rolls of film. We ate, visited with my daughter and son in law and their children, and had a wonderful day. This is only one of the reverse paintings on glass that were started from that day. The price is $140.
