Oils and watercolors large is where my interests and participation in the world of art began, the art mediums that I started out with. As a child, I loved to paint pictures. My parents provided me with watercolors for a few years befor we graduated to the expense of oil paints.

On the Christmas after I turned 11, I wanted a bicycle again. Again I was reminded that the law in our family was that you didn't get one until you were 12.

My dissapiontment was totally obscured when I opened the package of oil paints. It was a starter set, and boy did I ever get started in oils and watercolors!

I was a girl that didn't need much more than an idea to get started on a thing. I even continued to paint after I turned 12, and got the bicycle!

I painted until I got married and had children. That slowed me down some. Actually, it put a temporary end to the painting. The walnut box that my father had made for my Christmas gift one year went with the marraige to Maryland, Texas, and back to New York with me. I still had the supplies in the box. But I had no time to devote to the oils and watercolors.

The day finally came, three children later, that we bought a house. This must have done something really good for me, because I started painting in oils again! I attended classes faithfully, at first with my mother and sister, then with my father, then alone! I painted for years, and it was wonderful!

Then, my former husband left, and I was left to raise 4 children alone. What was the first thing to go, you ask. The oils and watercolors, of course.

Now You want to know why I'm painting again? My second daughter who was leaving for college insisted that I go with her to restock my art supplies before she left. She didn't tell me that she wasn't coming back home afterward. I painted like a woman posessed! I finally had some time for oils and watercolors large! I really took advantage this time. I'm still taking advantage, in spite of the man who is now in my life. Get this, he's even supportive! How could it get better?
