Monotypes, Art From Nature
Monotypes, art from nature, is a way af taking from the bounty of nature, to return a visual graphic that can be enjoyed even when the snow is several feet deep, and it feels as though summer may never return. I know in my mind that God will provide, and, " if winter is here, spring can not be far behind ", but there are some days when I just need to see it. 
One day in the late fall, I was reading an issue of "Artist" magazine. There was an article about how to create a thing called a monotype. The basic idea of it was to paint some wet, sloppy paint on a piece of glass, put your paper on it, crush it down with a rolling pin, and break the pane of hand blown glass. No, that wasn't how it read, but that was how I tried it the first time. I'de had plans for that piece of glass, and was just a little upset, but as stuborn as I am, of course I tried again.  The second through 15th try came out much the same. Maybe number 16 is a good one for me, because I finally got what I was looking for. I ran with it! 
The bottom line is that the ground hog came and went, Easter is almost here, and I'll be able to play with the monotypes again. Amen.
