The piece of art above, is called lathe art. The piece on the left in particular is called "country Road". The artist, R. Tagliere, used strips of wood, cut at different angles,and put them together almost in a mosaic type style to create the topic of this piece of art form. Some of the wood was left in it's natural state, and if you look closely, you may note that he used several different types of wood to do it. There is a lot of pine, some curly maple, poplar to aide the greens, walnut, and a touch of rosewood for accent. The price of "country Road is $150. It measures 22" x 25"
Here, again, we have a piece that leans a bit toward the masculine side, not because it's an oil painting on canvas, but the reason being the content. There are strong, rigid lines, exhibiting qualities of endurance.
If we flip over to the other side of the gender spectrum, on the feminine side, we're likeky to find some gentil, yet supple curves, mixed with a limited number of sharper angles.
