Lathe Art

All of the lathe art created by R. Tagliere on this page is that of R. Tagliere.

After deciding what his painting is going to consist of, Richard chooses the wood that he wants to make it from. The wood needs to be cut into several thin strips first, and then cut into the shapes required to create the piece of art work. If he is going to use nothing other than the wood to express the idea he has in mind, it will be finished much the same as a piece of furniture. If it needs color, he paints it.

When Mr. Tagliere bought this tool box in an antique shop, it no longer had a top, so he replaced it with a piece of his art work. The box is 36" wide, x 17" deep, x19" tall. The price is $165.
