Latest Work

10" x 13", just finished Dec. 15, "09 The title is "Horse in Pond", and the price is $125 plus s&h.

My latest work in contemporary art, that is, reverse painting on glass is found on this page. A woman with whom I work told me one day that her son, who is in the millitary had recently gotten married. The bride was so beautiful; she looked like a china doll! Looking at the wedding photos, this is the painting I came up with. The window sash measures 30" x 31 1/4". The price is $145 plus tax and S&H.

Please believe when I say if you have a photo like the one I borrowed from my husband, and you paint on glass, you will not be able to resist painting this one! Maybe it was just that I remember it so clearly, but these guys were my bros! Especially Silver. The outside measurements of the window sash are 20" x 30" The price is $145 plus tax, s&h.

Another piece of my latest work, "Friends" is a painting inspired by a greeting card for Valentines Day. It was from my husband, and I wished we could have known each other at that time in life. The size of the glass pane this was painted on is 11' x 14". The price is $102 with shipping included, plus tax.

This is a small, 8" x 10" painting of a "71 Chevelle, priced at $15 plus s&h. Boy was I ever surprized one day when an old car enthusiast identified the make, model and year a one of the cars in a painting of mine. He had been looking for one at one time to build a canoe out of the hood of the car. Now I really needed the skinny on that one, so he told me that he had one hood, and wanted to get another to weld back to back, and thus create a canoe. I loved it!

"Winter Dreams" was finished in April of "09. It was painted in a window sash that measures 21" x 30". The inspiration for it also named the rverse glass painting. And not a moment too soon, I am really, really ready for Spring! The price is $135 plus s&h.

Yet another latest work piece, "Panda" measures 16" x 20" When I used to set up at antique shows, a small child aproached me at one, and asked, "What is this chair seat made out of?" I told her that it was called 'cane', and it was made from strips of bamboo shoots. She decided that I must be depriving some panda bear of a meal, so I gave her some strips of cane, and told her to offer it to the next panda that she happened upon. It seemed to make her happy. Unlike most of my reverse glass art, this reverse painting is done on plexi glass. That was only because it was available. At least it will probably never break. I haven't decided whether I like it a lot, but don't let my taste influence your judgement! This painting was finished in mid March, "09. The price is $95 plus s&h.

"Blow A Kiss" measures 16" x 20". Finished in late March, "09,, this painting is priced at $130 plus s&h.

This latest work was finished on Feb. 24, 09. The title is 'Two Cheetah', this reverse painting on glass is done in a 19" x 23" window sash, and the price is $165 plus s&h.

A piece of contemporary art , with the photograph that I worked from. I didn't know the man before, but I almost felt as though I did after the painting. The gentleman who hired me to do this, needed it to be a reverse painting on glass so that it would mount in his hand crafted coffee table. The award winning coffee table was constructed by his father.

"Fishing Boy" measures 12" x 24". The frame that it's mounted in is slightly over 2" wide. This painting was completed in August, 09, and the price is $155 plus s&h. This painting won the blue ribbon in the mixed media division at the Ava Dorfman art show this year. Sometimes I surprize myself!

"Fishing Grizzley" is painted in a large window sash that at present is escaping me. I just came in from the gallery, unable to find it, but I know it's there. The price will be $225 when someone finds it. Someone finally found it! The darn thing measures 30" x 31 1/2".

These "Buck Fever" paintings are among my latest work, and available in a kit for those who would like to try their hand at a reverse painting on glass.

* The kit includes 2 frames with glass (purchased at the local Walmart),

* a set of acrylic paints, (if you're as frugal as I am, you can cut a cupon from the Sunday paper to save on that)

* two paint brushes and some small plastic cups to mix the paint in.

* and complete instructions with diagrams to place under the glass.

* If you would rather do the shopping yourself, the instructions and diagrams are much less expensive.

* The price is $38 plus s&h. For more info,

Another thing that I have been working on, is kits for kids. Any one who can read could complete these reverse glass paintings. They also include paintings for the holidays.

"Lady on the Beach" was painted in the door of a small cupboard. The door with the hardware was the only part left of the cupboard, so I used what I had. The exterior measurements are 29" x 16". The finished painting is priced at $145 plus s&h.

"Egrets" measures 18" x 24", with the frame slightly larger, and is priced at $95.

One weekend, my oldest daughter and her family were camping at Lake Delta. When my husband and I got there, my first destination was to find my two grandsons. This is where I found the older of them. The scene inspired my latest work, "Jacob Fishing" is painted in a 32" x 25 1/2" window sash. The price is $135.

This is the latest work that my husband, Richard has finished. Now that winter is back, he is at it again, working out in the shop on more lathe art. This one measures 25" x 25", and the price is $58 plus s&h.

Google

The most recent pieces of my work in reverse painting on glass, and my husband, Richard's work in lathe art. This is the page where you can find his and my most recently finished paintings. For me, these are the reverse painting on glass, exciting paintings, second only to the work still in progress! This is where you need to be to see contemporary art in reverse painting on glass.

After the painting is complete, and this takes several time-consuming steps, it needs a backing to protect the paint from being scratched off the glass. Even the wire to hang it with can scratch off the paint. For the smaller paintings in commercial frames, a snugly fit piece of cardboard is usually enough. For the larger paintings or the work done in window sashes, I cut thin plywood to fit, and attach it to the back of the latest work.
