flower garden paintings are still new to my work with hand made glass paintings, but wont be for long! Work is in progress on some poppies, bearded iris and butterfly paintings. The potential is vast, to say the least. Flower gardens themselves are something that I do have experience with, and what better inspiration for a painting could there be? The colors are exciting, and when they go into a painting, one can still enjoy the garden even in the off seasons!
This hand made glass painnting was the first of my flower bed paintings. It measures 4" x 6". Because it was my sister who found a copius amount of these picture frames, and sold them to me at a rock bottom price, she got the first painting. The model for the painting was a magazine photo. But last week, while I was out stacking fire wood, a large yellow and black butterfly came to visit my poppies. Of course I grabbed my camera! But it was already high up in the air. While waiting for this beauty to come back down, I said under my breath," The lupins are sweet, too..." And don't you know that butterfly came back, and landed on a lupin long enough for me to get not one, but two wonderful shots of it! It's funny that a little thing like that can just make your day.
