To Contact the Artist
To contact the artist, that would be myself,(and I' really think of myself as a painter), you can drop me an e-mail at sallywillson@yahoo.com. If you're interested in a painting, or having me do a painting for you, feel free to let me know about it, please. It doesn't cost anything to ask questions, and I am more than willing to give price estimates. Even though I have a pay pal account that you can use if needed I do like to deal with people personally, so I can also be reached at 315-865-4263. I work the evening shift, so unless it's my day off, call before 2 p.m.
If for some reason I neglected to state the size of a painting, or you may require a better photograph of a painting because it isn't visable enough on the site, I would be happy to send photos in an 8" x 10" or legal sized s.a.s.e.
I do accept pay pal. A deposit of 30% will hold a reserve painting glass for 30 days, at which time 50% of the remaining balance is due, and the remainder due 30 days beyond that.

"Reflected Lady in Blue" painted on an 18" x 24" glass panel. Price $65
Reverse Glass Painting Kits?
The pictures of the reverse glass paintings that are done on glass panes in the web site are measured by the size of the glass pane. The frames will be 1" plus in both direccions, depending on the size of the frame. The price of each of my paintings includes the frame or window sash. The window sashes are measured at their outside dimensions. The price of the shipping and handeling wont be any more than it costs me to do it, however, this must include the construction of a plywood case to fit the piece in order to avoid breakage. They must also be wrapped in a cushon of bubblewrap or something to keep them safe. Please bear in mind that it was painted on the glass. If the glass breaks, the painting also breaks. All paintings will be insured for shipping, at a rate equal to or more than the cost of the painting.

Bio
Born and raised in the Rome, New York area,Sally Willson is the seventh of eight children born to William and Elmina Nemyier, who ran an antique shop in Floyd for over fifty years. Most weekends in the fair weather were spent at antique shows and flea markets. Her interest in antiques remains with her. Being the mother of four children, and choosing to be at home with them, at least until they were in their teens, she opted to work at home for several years refinishing furniture. After her third child was born, she took classes at BOCES in New Hartford and the RACC painting in oils. Many times, the classes were taken with other members of her family. She continued to paint until the refinishing and the children became the main focus of her life, and the paints had to be put away.
Several years later, the only child still at home was ready to leave for her last year of college. This was her second daughter, Bobbi. Before leaving, Bobbi insisted that Sally go buy more paint and canvass and get busy. The battle raged, and Bobbi won, so off to the local art supply store they went.
Starting over at the painting was discouraging at first. There were a few good paintings on the walls that had been done years before, and it took over a year of painting every night after work to pick up where she’d left off. After she had gotten this far, and stopped to take a look, she found stacks upon stacks of glass left over from the frames she had put on the oil paintings. A close friend, Richard, asked one day what she was going to do with the glass, and she replied that she didn’t know, she would sleep on it. When she woke up the next day, Sally had decided to paint on the glass. She remembered the hundreds of reverse paintings on glass that she had seen as a child at antique shows, and decided that it wasn’t impossible, so “why not” Reverse Painting on glass is a technique that has been done for thousands of years. The origins are still unclear, but there are still people painting on glass.
