Business and Professional Office Art
Business and professional office art used to be an added attraction, but has evolved over recent years into becoming expected. When I walk into a Dr.'s office, I would hope to see an image of health, maybe something like two elderly people, holding hands, happy and healthy; that being the reason I'm there. I want a chance at that. If you're in the waiting room of an OB-Gyn, you"ll probably see images of beautiful children. Something to subconciosly get the client in the right frame of mind to do business.

Commercial Interior Design is in the process of evolving, as it has been for decades. Not only is having artwork in the office expected, but it has become a basic. A commercial office with no art says nothing to the potential new customer-it leaves him or her cold. A well done painting, reverse painting on glass, or even a print can at the very least generate some thought provoking ideas, or set the person at ease enough to make him comfortable with the surroundings.
If you wanted to have a horse barn built, and went to a construction office with a painting of lovely carraige house, you might think, "What a relief that other people take my idea seriously. Maybe I'm at the right place."
In any event, we now live in an era where appearence is critical, moreso in the business and professional office art world than anywhere. Art has always been, and continues to be extreemly important.
